Hello. I'm Kristine Scott
Councilmember for District 2
RANCHO CUCAMONGA CITY COUNCIL
For almost 25 years, I have worked with communities, organizations and businesses throughout Southern California on projects and programs that have benefitted the region.
Half of those years have been specifically focused on improving our way of life in San Bernardino County. I have worked diligently to bring about positive outcomes in areas such as economic development, education and safety, especially in Rancho Cucamonga, where I have made my home and have been passionately committed to be a part of.
As your councilmember, I want to ensure that progress continues, and we remain one of the best cities to live, work and play in the Inland Empire.
Getting to know me
I proudly serve as the point of contact for communities located in San Bernardino County, as a Senior Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas,) a Sempra Energy Utility. I work to educate customers and stakeholders about SoCalGas activities, programs and services, respond to customer and local media inquiries and resolve customer complaints.
In this position, I supports field operations through our work with regional and local governments on issues regarding franchises, permitting, emergency preparedness and response.
Resident safety and satisfaction are always important to me.
I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications specializing in public relations with a minor in American Studies.
Education is a lifelong process. In 2015, I completed "California Connections" a statewide, issues-based, learning leadership fellowship through the Southern California Leadership Network as well as the Inland Empire Economic Partnership Regional Leadership Academy in 2017.
I believe that learning never stops at any age. I am passionate about improving education for our youth as well as adult learners.
As Past President of the Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation, I worked to expand programs and services for our residents. In addition, I also volunteer on the Boards of the Boys and Girls Club, Promise Scholars Foundation and the Women of Hope.
Currently I am working funds for our “Second Story and Beyond” located at the Biane LIbrary.
Growing up in the Inland Empire, I've had the opportunity to live and work in communities through out the region. But when it came time to buy my first home, I knew there was no other place I'd rather live than beautiful Rancho Cucamonga.
My rescue dog George and I love living here. We enjoy the many parks, trails and recreational amenities available to us. I spend my free time enjoying our local eateries, discovering new places, attending & volunteering at Hillside Church, giving back to my community and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
As our population increases, its important that we prepare for future growth by having well thought out plans and policies. I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Rancho Cucamonga and will work hard to bring about more programs and projects that will enhance the way of life that keeps us one of the best cities to live in.
Top To Do's
Public Safety
We need to continue assuring that the men and women of our Police and Fire Departments have the resources and staffing to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities. This is still one of my top priorities. Our First Responders are here to keep Rancho Cucamonga one of the safest cities to live in.
LOCAL WORKFORCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Our team works diligently to attract good companies that will pay a live-able wage. Fortune 100 Companies are looking to Rancho Cucamonga for there future expansion needs.
Infrastructure
With more cars on the road and increased traffic, we need to keep our streets safe to drive on and make the necessary long term improvements to allow for growth. At the same time we need to promote alternative modes of transportation. As a council, we will find solutions that work best not only for our city but our region.
